Common Transmission Repairs

Transmission Fluid:
All automatic transmissions used transmission fluid. A manual transmission may also use transmission fluid, or a similar liquid called transmission oil. Not enough transmission fluid can cause several problems. When listening to your transmission, if you hear humming, whining or any other noises that are not common sounds of your vehicle, you should check your transmission fluid. Also, if you smell a burning smell, check your transmission fluid. Top it off, if your transmission fluid levels are low. Transmission fluid should be clear with a reddish hue. Old and dirty transmission fluid contains contaminants that could block the fluid’s flow. If your transmission fluid is clean and healthy, it will have a reddish color not opaque or smell foul. Check your transmission fluid every month. If it needs to be topped up, you may have a leak. This kind of issue is common but serious.Reseal Repair Job:
If you are topping up your transmission fluid every month or notice spots on the ground beneath your car, you most likely have a transmission leak and need a re-seal repair. Depending on the location of the leak results in how complicated the re-seal job will be. If the leak is easy to find while the transmission is in the chassis, then the re-seal job is inexpensive and easy. But, if the leak is hard to find or if the entire transmission requires to be re-sealed, then it will need to be removed from the car, resulting in more labor which means more money for the job.Replacing Parts:
A transmission has individual parts with a series of different components that all work together. Bands and clutches are some of the most common replacements. Torque converters are also a common problem. Heavily damage transmission requires a total transmission overhaul.Eagle Transmission Shop in Mesquite :
